Preservation and Improvement
Anyone who knows about building materials knows that they don't last forever. The capillary action of concrete and mortar allows water and other contaminants to penetrate. This process takes place slowly but surely and destroys the material from within. In the long run, most of the cement work and masonry will be destroyed by moisture damage and environmental influences.‹ Specifications
Creto®: The non-toxic alternative to waterproofing with deep penetrating effect
Creto® reacts with almost all existing lime and alkali present in the material. It doesn't act like a coating, but rather reacts with the material to form a tight bond. Creto® becomes a part of the material. Creto® penetrates into the pores and forms crystals until the pores are closed and it has bonded firmly with the material. Creto® and the construction material become a unified material which is insoluble. The liquid material creeps into the pores and moves around along the edges of the pores and forms a gel based on silicate, without organic components. As soon as the gel forms it expands and displaces the moisture.
